SCIP structures using our standard design specifications resist hurricane winds in excess of 150 mph and surpass all impact resistance requirements, like falling tree parts.  SCIP qualifies as “fortified construction.”

SCIP also qualifies as “Flood Resistant Construction” under F.E.M.A. guidelines for interior and exterior walls and floors in flood zones.

Standard SCIP walls are fire resistant, so wildfire protection is another important attribute.

With exterior skins made of 6000 PSI concrete, SCIP enclosures are inherently water resistant, rot resistant, and it is not appealing to termites or other vermin.

Energy Efficient Construction

With R42 floors and roofs and R25 walls SCIP structures offer maximum insulation properties without concerns for mold as in trapped-cavity construction.  SCIP structures are like concrete refrigerators – tightly sealed, very insulated, and ultimately strong.

The massiveness of SCIP walls make them acoustically stout and noise resistant.  Because it is essentially monolithic and continuous from walls to floors to roof, SCIP is also ideal for seismic design.

Because SCIP is so energy efficient, designs can utilize greater glass to floor area ratios and still meet Florida Energy Code requirements for new construction.  Any architect’s design can be a SCIP structure.
